Max Howell

Max is a 25-year veteran and pioneer of regional sports talk radio and TV. Max pioneered the medium of southern sports radio and was host of the South’s largest radio syndication programming. A founding personality of CONFERENCE CALL and SOUTHERN SPORTS TONIGHT, Max is widely regarded as one of the premier evaluators of sports talent in the South and is a frequent contributor and analyst for major football publications and sports talk shows throughout the country.

A career educator, administrator, coach and one of the most successful sports broadcasters in Atlanta radio history, Max has worked with his share of champions. Among the more notable of these are NFL Hall of Famer’s Emmitt Smith and Deion Sanders. His unique combination of skill, experience and association provides Max with keen perspective and unparalleled access to the people who make news in sports throughout the South and across the nation.

Max is a proud Troy University graduate with a B.S. degree is ’62 and M.S. degree in ’65. Max was inducted into the Troy University Hall of Fame in 2019.

Max also enjoyed a great deal of success over his 30-year coaching career at both the high school and college level. His programs were #1 in the nation in Division 1 at Florida State University in 1988, in NAIA at Troy in 1968 and at Escambia High School in 1986.

Max’s on field accomplishments as a player include ACHS All-State player in ’57 and two-year letterman and All-Conference player while at Troy.

Currently, Max owns and operates the marketing firm, GAMEDAY TICKET, LLC from his office in Fulton, Mississippi.
